Gel Polish Aftercare Instructions for Clients
Congratulations on your beautiful gel manicure and/or Pedicure! To ensure your nails remain healthy and your polish lasts as long as possible, please follow these aftercare tips:
1. Avoid Water and Chemicals:
- Avoid soaking your hands in water (e.g., baths, washing dishes- use gloves) and exposure to harsh chemicals, as this can affect the gel.
2. Moisturize Regularly:
- Apply cuticle oil daily to keep your cuticles and the skin around your nails hydrated. This helps prevent hangnails and keeps your nails looking their best.
3. Be Gentle:
- Avoid using your nails as tools (e.g., opening packages, scratching surfaces) to prevent chipping and breaking.
4. Protect Your Nails:
- Wear gloves when doing household chores or using cleaning products to shield your nails from damage.
5. Avoid Picking or Peeling:
- Do not pick or peel at your gel polish, as this can damage your natural nails. If your polish starts to lift, contact me for removal or a touch-up.
6. Regular Maintenance:
- Schedule your next appointment for fills or removal every 2-3 weeks, depending on your natural nail growth and the condition of your manicure.
7. Proper Removal:
- When it’s time to remove your gel polish, please do not attempt to remove it at home. Contact me for a professional removal to avoid damaging your natural nails.
8. Report Any Issues:
- If you experience any discomfort, lifting, or other concerns with your gel polish, please reach out right away.
